Quincy Medical Center, a Steward Family Hospital, is hosting a free Ladies Night Out! A Celebration of Healthy Minds, Bodies and Spirits, on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, 5:30-8 p.m., at Quincy High School, 100 Coddington Street, Quincy. The event will feature special guest Loretta LaRoche, acclaimed speaker, author, stress management and humor consultant, and hosted by Mary Richardson, Steward Health Care Community Liaison and former co-anchor of WCVB-TV Chronicle.
Organizations worldwide use Loretta LaRoche’s prescription for laughter to manage stress and help audiences capture a new perspective on the difficult parts of life. Her energetic presentations serve to leave her audiences in an enthusiastic frame of mind.
“As the holidays quickly approach, they can signify more stress – particularly for women, who are often already working overtime to balance family, work and social commitments,” said Donna Rubinate, President of Quincy Medical Center. “We want this event to give women the opportunity to pause for a couple of guilt-free hours to relax, rejuvenate, renew and focus on their health, well-being and have some fun. We are thrilled to have Loretta LaRoche join us to help us do just that.”
Along with LaRoche’s special presentation, the Ladies Night Out! event, hosted by Mary Richardson, will feature a variety of display tables where participants can obtain information on services offered by Quincy Medical Center as well as community partners. Guests will be able to gather important health information from experts in diabetes, orthopedic, cardiology, dermatology, urology, women’s health and stress management. In addition, guests can participate in fitness demonstrations of yoga and Zumba, enjoy delicious, healthy foods and win many prizes.
Quincy High School and North Quincy High School juniors and seniors have also been invited to participate in a Health & Wellness poster contest. All posters will be displayed during the Ladies Night Out! event and two winners will be chosen, one from each school, to each receive a $250 scholarship. Posters from the winners and runners-up will be displayed at the Quincy Medical Center to continue to raise awareness of health and wellness in the community.
Community partners for Ladies Night Out! include: Quincy Public Schools, South Shore YMCA, Stop & Shop, Manet Community Health Center, Compass Medical, Spa At Boncaldo’s, A Healthy Balance, and Healing Tree Yoga and Wellness Center.
