SHUTTLE SERVICE EASES ACCESS BETWEEN QUINCY MEDICAL CENTER AND MANET COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER
Patients of Manet Community Health Center will now have an easier time getting to appointments for testing and follow-up care at Quincy Medical Center (QMC), thanks to a new shuttle service being launched this month between QMC and Manet’s North Quincy, Houghs Neck, Snug Harbor and Hull offices.
“Transportation can be a barrier to accessing a continuum of care for our patients. This shuttle service provided by Quincy Medical Center’s community benefit program will help our patients by promoting health equity and ensuring the timely and convenient delivery to needed appointments and services,” says Henry Tuttle, chief executive officer of Manet Community Health Center.
The free shuttle service is provided by Quincy Medical Center as part of its community benefits program and its ongoing relationship with Manet. “Patients at Manet’s office here at the hospital already have convenient access to hospital services when they need them,” explains Donna Rubinate, president of Quincy Medical Center. “By providing shuttle service to patients at Manet’s other locations, we can eliminate transportation as a barrier to patients accessing important screening, diagnostic and treatment services. It’s all part of providing a seamless continuum to keep patients in our community healthy.”
Quincy Medical Center also provides free shuttle service between the hospital and the Quincy Center MBTA station seven days a week. To find out shuttle times, call 617-773-6100 or visit www.quincymc.org.
